San Diego has a very vibrant Lao food scene with several Laotian restaurants now! Today I tried out the newest one that just opened up a few months ago called @pha.khao.lao I sent my daughter here when they first opened up so I was excited to finally come try it myself. The menu alone impressed me especially the pun khao soi cause I don't know any other Lao American restaurants that serve this delightful dish yet. This book is more than just a collection of recipes—it captures the history, place, and traditions of the Lao community. First published in 1981, it remains a cornerstone of Lao culinary heritage as the first written Lao cookbook. In this new series, I’m bringing these recipes to life and making them more a
