During the South Sudanese civil war, the Kajo Keji County Hospital was destroyed, leaving pregnant women with nowhere to go to deliver safely. In 2023, MSF rehabilitated the hospital's operating theatre, bringing back safe deliveries, including emergency C-sections. Each C-section involves a highly skilled team composed of MSF and Ministry of Health staff: surgeons, anesthetists, pediatricians and midwives collaborate to ensure the best possible outcome both for mothers and babies.
